Come and learn of the history, the inspiration of this mural, as well as the process for restoring the mural and the historical significance to our people’s movement for Raza self-determination.

Workers from across all sectors to hold a Day of Action throughout the City to Demonstrate our Rejection of Current Economic Policies that are Detrimental to the city’s working people

For too long, the 1%, with the backing of a failed 2-party system, has impeded the progress of the majority working class of San Diego. They (the 1%) have exploited the labor of working people and have amassed extraordinary amounts of wealth.

Workers have felt the weight of economic policies that do not benefit the majority, and we declare that we will no longer let a minority hold us back from prospering any further. We will do what we must to ensure that our families are cared for so that our children can have a better life. We cannot and will not allow the 1% to usurp all human progress attributed to the work produced by the great majority. We will stand firm, united against exploitation of our labor, hate against working people and will hold those accountable who allow it to happen.

From North to South, from East to West, we are reaching out to the 4 corners of San Diego to join us at 12 noon at the Civic Center in Downtown so that our community can come together and speak truth to power!

On May 1st, the working class will march because we have to; because we are tired of being exploited by the 1% who refuses to understand the interconnectedness that we all share. We created the wealth that they enjoy. Now, we demand that our wealth benefit the majority of working people.

Workers Struggle Beyond Borders:
Uniting the Peoples of Nuestra América

There is a global war on workers by the bosses and by finance capital (banks) — by an economic system that puts profits ahead of any human need and enforces it through budget cuts on all social and public services, trhough police/migra terror, by drones, bombs, invasions, wars and occupations. Economic policies such as the Free Trade Agreements force migration of workers around the globe to sell their labor without any protections or basic human rights.

Workers however are organizing and resisting. We invite the public to come and listen to two of the most combative labor struggles in México with representatives of the electrical workers and miners who have been in a heated battle to defend their right to their union jobs.

La Lucha Obrera No Tiene Fronteras:
Uniendo los pueblos de Nuestra América

El capital financiero, representados por los bancos y sus dueños, han desatado una guerra frontal contra trabajadores en escala global. El sistema economico imperante pone las ganancias para unos pocos sobre las necesidades basicas de las grandes mayorías. Imponen mediante recortes presupuestarios a servicios publicos y la privatizacion de los mismos, asi tambien lo imponen con bombardeos, invasiones, guerras y ocupaciones. Politicas económicas de los gobiernos al servicio del capital financiero, adoptan “tratados de libre comercio” que obligan a muchos trabajadores a migrar en busqueda de vender su fuerza de trabajo en otros paises sin derecho alguno a los derechos basicos del ser humano.

Sin embargo, trabajadores se estan organizando y resistiendo. Invitamos al publico para que lleguen a discutir con representantes de dos de los sindicatos más combativos de combativos de México de los sectores electricos y mineros, quienes han estado en una lucha para defender su derecho al trabajo sindicalizado.
