Unión del Barrio, organización política apostada en territorios ocupados al sur de California, nos declaramos ser parte del rechazo global contra el terrorismo de estado que Israel lleva a cabo contra el pueblo de Palestina, y nos unimos a todas las mujeres y los hombres que aman la libertad y la paz para que se unan en la exigencia de que Israel retire de Gaza su capacidad de imponer la muerte.
Los Unionistas entendemos y nos solidarizamos con el pueblo hermano de Palestina. Sabemos perfectamente cómo se siente cuando un estado terriblemente poderoso se impone militarmente sobre un pueblo y construye muros, reprime niños y familias, y hace valer la “seguridad” y el “bienestar” de su poder sobre el dolor y miseria de la gente.
Sabemos que todos los asedios y agresiones militares efectuadas por Israel han sido llevadas a cabo con fines políticos. Esto lo sabemos porque es imposible crear seguridad o imponer la paz con bombardeos de civiles y la represión colectiva. Lo sucedido en la Franja de Gaza en el año 2008-2009, 2012 y 2014 evidencia que Israel no quiere la paz, si no que quiere exterminar el pueblo palestino.
Como parte de la estrategia para avanzar esta exterminación, el gobierno derechista de Israel tiene que mentirle al mundo. Israel se encuentra en la posición de tratar de reconciliar imágenes de cadáveres de niños palestinos y una absoluta mayoría de civiles muertos con una idea que se están defendiendo del “salvajismo de Hamas.” Barack Hussein Obama y los demás traficantes de la muerte no desperdician ninguna oportunidad para elogiar el “derecho legítimo” Israelí de auto-defenderse, derecho que estos porristas argumentan solo le corresponde a Israel.
La Unión Europea también tiene su alta responsabilidad por su postura de distancia “igual” entre el agresor y la víctima, y al mismo tiempo desarrolla la cooperación con Israel a nivel militar, económico y político. Y las monarquías árabes, lacayos del imperialismo, no levantan ni pío mientras que lucran de las ventas de combustible árabe que aviva aviones de guerra, drones, buques y tanques para aplastar al pueblo palestino en Gaza.
A esto no se le puede clasificar de ninguna otra manera, más que de crímenes de lesa humanidad. Esto no es más ni es menos que un acto de genocidio en contra del pueblo palestino. Este es el único camino que ofrece el sionismo, imperialismo y el capitalismo para conquistar su “paz” y “seguridad,” y por todo el mundo se sabe que ese no es el camino del futuro.

Unión del Barrio, a political organization based in occupied territories of southern California, declares our position contributing to the global repudiation of Israeli state terrorism imposed on the Palestinian people. Furthermore, we call on our membership to unite with all women and men who cherish freedom and peace so that we may emphatically demand that Israel pull from Gaza its terrible capacity for delivering death.
As Unión del Barrio we understand very well what is at stake for the people of Palestine. We understand perfectly how it feels when a terribly powerful government imposes itself militarily on a people in order to build walls, repress children and their families, and to enforce the “security” and “welfare” of its political power upon a foundation of pain and misery of a subjugated people.
We know that this military siege and all attacks undertaken by Israel have been carried out for political purposes. We know this because it is impossible to create security or impose peace by bombing civilians and the imposition of collective punishment. What happened in Gaza during 2008-2009, 2012 and now in 2014 is evidence that Israel does not want peace, but instead seeks to exterminate the Palestinian people.
As part of the strategy to advance this extermination, the right-wing government of Israel must convince the world to accept its deceptive narratives. Israel is now in the position of working tirelessly to reconcile pictures of dead Palestinian children and an absolute majority of civilian deaths throughout Gaza with an idea that they are defending themselves from the “savagery and aggression of Hamas.” Embroiled in a sick solidarity, Barack Hussein Obama and other international traffickers in death waste no opportunity to declare the “absolute and unequivocal right” of Israeli self-defense, although these macabre cheerleaders fail to mention their conviction that self-defense is a privilege exclusive to Israel.
The European Union also bears a high responsibility for their position situating a false equivalency between aggressor and victim, meanwhile the EU cooperates with Israel at the military, economic and political levels. And finally, in the most opportunistic and cowardly fashion, Arab monarchies operate as unrepentant lackeys of imperialism. So-called Arab kings and princes do not raise a peep while they profit from the sale and delivery of Arab fuel to power Israeli warplanes, drones, ships and tanks used crush the Palestinian people of Gaza.
This crisis must be classified in no other way than as a crime against humanity. This is nothing more nor less than an act of genocide being carried out against the Palestinian people. This logic of death is the path that zionism, imperialism and capitalism offer in order to win their “peace” and “security.” Humanity collectively knows that is not the way of the future.
