The two primary goals of EAZ are:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>To develop more cultural and political conciencia among young people in our communities, and<\/li>\n<li>To help build our long-term vision of an independent \u201craza liberation school.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>We intend to build EAZ to become a dual and contending educational resource for young people throughout Southern Califas, and we hope to see a day\u00a0 when our community youth begin to prioritize EAZ over the traditional classes they must take on a daily basis, within which our history and culture is ignored, and if it is brought up at all, it is usually from a negative perspective.<\/p>\n<p>THIS PROJECT IS ORGANIZED AND OPERATES WITH COMPLETE INDEPENDENCE FROM OFFICIAL \u201cEDUCATIONAL\u201d INSTITUTIONS. IT IS ORGANIZED ON A 100% VOLUNTEER BASIS, AND IS SELF-FUNDED THROUGH DONATIONS, SMALL FUNDRAISERS, AND WITH MONEY COLLECTED FROM WITHIN THE COMMUNITIES WE SERVE.
