Uni\u00f3n del Barrio, a community based political organization, that for over 30 years has organized Raza workers to struggle for our self-determination and liberation from US imposed borders, is organizing \u201c21 millas por 21 a\u00f1os de Resistencia<\/em>\u201d <\/strong>–\u00a0<\/strong>a bike ride from the Larsen Field in San Ysidro to Chicano Park. December 10th is the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights<\/em> and it represents the universal recognition that basic rights and fundamental freedoms are inherent for all human beings, inalienable and equally applicable to everyone, and that every one of us is born free and equal in dignity and rights whatever our nationality, place of residence, gender, national or ethnic origin, color, religion, language, or any other status.\u00a0 Therefore the purpose of our bike ride is to denounce the escalating war on our people. We reject all laws and policies that for the past 21 years – since the implementation of NAFTA and Operation Gatekeeper – have militarized our barrios, systematically killed thousands of migrants at the border, have separated millions of families, and have incarcerated tens of thousands of workers in concentration camps called prisons. All of this, while making billions of dollars for large corporations.<\/p>\n

Since the implementation of both related economic and border policies in 1994, Uni\u00f3n del Barrio has been consistent in our resistance to this assault against Raza workers and families on both sides of the imposed border. Twenty-one years later, after more than eight thousand deaths, and millions of deportations and separated families, the border community of San Diego will come together on Saturday December 5, 2015<\/strong><\/span> to build class and political consciousness for our self-defense, to organize our people into struggle and to build an economic basis for our work. Uni\u00f3n del Barrio, una organizaci\u00f3n pol\u00edtica basada en la comunidad, que por m\u00e1s de 30 a\u00f1os ha luchado por la auto-determinaci\u00f3n y liberaci\u00f3n de la clase trabajadora mexicana\/latinoamericana dentro de los EE.UU. estar\u00e1 organizando un paseo cicl\u00edstico de resistencia “21 millas por 21 A\u00f1os de Resistencia” <\/em><\/strong>desde Larsen Field Park en San Ysidro al Parque Chicano en Barrio Logan. El 10 de diciembre se celebra el D\u00eda Universal de los Derechos Humanos para recordar que el respeto a los derechos b\u00e1sicos e inalienables de todas y cada una de las personas es el ideal com\u00fan al que aspiran todas las naciones y pueblos del mundo. Este paseo de bicicleta va a denunciar y rechazar todas las leyes y pol\u00edticas que en los pasados 21 a\u00f1os, desde la implementaci\u00f3n del NAFTA y el Operativo Guardi\u00e1n, han sido impuestas en nuestra comunidad de forma sistem\u00e1tica; matando a miles de migrantes en la frontera, han separado a millones de familias, y han encarcelado a decenas de miles de trabajadores en los campos de concentraci\u00f3n llamados \u201cc\u00e1rceles\u201d en los EE.UU.<\/p>\n

Desde la implementaci\u00f3n tanto de las pol\u00edticas econ\u00f3micas y de la frontera en 1994, Uni\u00f3n del Barrio ha sido constante en su resistencia a este asalto en contra de los trabajadores y nuestras familias en ambos lados de la frontera. Veinte a\u00f1os m\u00e1s tarde, despu\u00e9s de m\u00e1s de ocho mil muertes y millones de deportaciones y familias separadas, la comunidad fronteriza de San Diego se reunir\u00e1 el s\u00e1bado 5 de diciembre para organizar a nuestra comunidad y defender nuestros derechos.
