Caracas, 11 April 2016<\/p>\n

The peoples of our America are suffering the offensive of conservative re-colonization launched by imperialism and local oligarchies. They would like to sweep away all the conquests of the regional progressive processes in the field of social justice, sovereignty, integration and the birth of authentic peoples\u2019 power.<\/p>\n

In this context, Venezuela is the main target, both because of its enormous riches and because of the threat it represents by its example of hope.<\/p>\n

The Bolivarian Revolution was submitted in December of 2015 to an electoral process under pressures of every sort. An economic, media and psychological war was launched against the Venezuelan people and violent destabilizing methods were used by making use of paid agitators, lackeys and paramilitary forces. The global crisis and the induced collapse of oil prices dramatically aggravated the situation. The imperial decree describing Venezuela as an \u201cunusual and extraordinary threat for the national security of the United States\u201d added a new factor to the coercive climate being created.<\/p>\n

After the electoral results, a sinister and well-orchestrated plan was implemented that pursues the overthrow of the peoples\u2019 legitimately-elected President Nicol\u00e1s Maduro Moros and the destruction of everything that has anything to do with the revolutionary work, its social achievements and the ideals of Commander Hugo Ch\u00e1vez Fr\u00edas.<\/p>\n

Revolutionary Venezuela applied for the first time the distribution of oil revenues as majority goods and, in the face of adversities and more serious obstacles, it has undertaken to maintain social policies for the benefit of the poor. \u00a0It has undertaken bold and very complex tasks to solve the nation\u2019s structural problems and it has managed to preserve peace and stability.\u00a0 It is working on bringing together patriotic and Bolivarian forces under the civic-military union consistent with the libertarian history of the nation. It continues to be immersed in a determined struggle against corruption and bureaucracy, for the strengthening of the communes and the acknowledgement of the rights of indigenous peoples and Afro-descendants and of nature.<\/p>\n

We, the members of the Network of Intellectuals, Artists and Social Movements \u201cIn Defense of Humanity\u201d ratify our solidarity with the Bolivarian Revolution.\u00a0 We demand the immediate repeal of the infamous decree by the US government against Venezuela.\u00a0 We repudiate reactionary harassment and censorship to silence the proud voice of Telesur. We reject laws such as the one the people have rightly named \u201cthe law of criminal amnesia\u201d or \u201cself-pardon\u201d for those who, with their seditious actions, caused and are still causing death and pain for many Venezuelan families, something that would be equal to legalized impunity.<\/p>\n

So that Latin America and the Caribbean may indeed be a \u201cZone of Peace\u201d as CELAC has proclaimed, it is essential to definitively stop the attempts to stage a coup against the Bolivarian government and to preserve constitutional law and order. We espouse the ecumenical, humanist and inclusive spirit of the Congress of the Homeland.<\/p>\n

We convoke a broad-based mobilization in the defense of the sovereignty and self-determination of the Venezuelan people and in support of all governments, leaders and progressive activists in the region who are being victims of a very real witch-hunt by internal reactionaries and the Empire. A process that is similar to Plan Condor is on the march in Latin America, as persecution of all those struggling for emancipatory objectives is being intensified.<\/p>\n

The NETWORK energetically rejects all attempts at launching a coup on the Government of Brazil and the factious use of justice to criminalize the peoples\u2019 political leaders such as Dilma Rousseff, Lula da Silva and Cristina Kirchner. We call on holding demonstrations in front of Brazilian Embassies all over the world, in solidarity with the Brazilian government and in repudiation of the attempts at coups and paramilitary repression against the\u00a0Movimiento de los Sin Tierra<\/em>. We repudiate the cowardly murder of Berta C\u00e1ceres, peoples\u2019 leader Lenca de Honduras, and we exhort the liberation of indigenous leader Milagro Sala of Argentina, and of the Puerto Rican Independence leader Oscar L\u00f3pez Rivera who has been incarcerated for 35 years. We support the demands for justice for the government crime committed against the 43 students at Ayotzinapa. We condemn the paramilitarism in Colombia and the murders of 120 activists at the\u00a0Marcha Patri\u00f3tica<\/em>\u00a0last year, as a serious obstacle to the desires for peace in that sister nation.<\/p>\n

The NETWORK censures the attempt to besmirch the political and ethical authority of Bolivia\u2019s President Evo Morales, one of its founding members, by a strategy of manipulation and lies. It expresses its support for President Rafael Correa of Ecuador who has suffered from attempts to overthrow him and is persistently being harassed. It condemns attempts to use common crime with political aims to destabilize the government of El Salvador.<\/p>\n

Together we build a platform, with one common agenda, using anti-hegemonic communications media that include Telesur and other public channels, digital sites, social networks, news agencies and community broadcasting. It is essential to contribute to the spiritual enrichment of human beings via art that is beyond the dictatorship of the market and to create, on a massive scale and especially for new generations, a new culture in opposition to consumerism, contributing to the formation of a social subject that cannot be manipulated, is critical and in solidarity and which resists the assassination or oblivion of our memory, identity heritage and historical conscience.<\/p>\n

As one of our poets wrote: \u201cA people that make themselves strong through their language and their free acts are a threat to the Empire and represent dawn for Humanity\u201d.<\/p>\n

DECLARACI\u00d3N DEL XII ENCUENTRO DE LA RED DE INTELECTUALES, ARTISTAS Y MOVIMIENTOS SOCIALES EN DEFENSA DE LA HUMANIDAD \u201cVENEZUELA EN LA ENCRUCIJADA: NUEVOS TIEMPOS, \u00a0NUEVOS DESAF\u00cdOS<\/p>\n

Los pueblos de nuestra Am\u00e9rica sufren la ofensiva de recolonizaci\u00f3n conservadora por parte del imperialismo y las oligarqu\u00edas locales. Se pretende barrer todas las conquistas de los procesos progresistas regionales en el campo de la justicia social, la soberan\u00eda, la integraci\u00f3n y la gestaci\u00f3n de un aut\u00e9ntico poder popular.<\/p>\n

En este contexto, Venezuela es un blanco principal, tanto por sus enormes riquezas como por la amenaza que representa su ejemplo de esperanza.<\/p>\n

La Revoluci\u00f3n Bolivariana se someti\u00f3 en diciembre de 2015 a un proceso electoral bajo presiones de toda \u00edndole. Se lanz\u00f3 contra el pueblo venezolano una guerra econ\u00f3mica, medi\u00e1tica y psicol\u00f3gica, y se utilizaron m\u00e9todos desestabilizadores violentos con el empleo de agitadores a sueldo, sicarios y paramilitares. La crisis mundial y el desplome inducido de los precios del petr\u00f3leo, agravaron dram\u00e1ticamente la situaci\u00f3n. El decreto imperial\u00a0\u00a0 que califica a Venezuela como una amenaza \u201cinusual y extraordinaria para la seguridad nacional de los Estados Unidos\u201d, sum\u00f3 un nuevo factor al clima coercitivo que ya se ven\u00eda creando.<\/p>\n

Tras los resultados electorales, se ha puesto en marcha un plan\u00a0 siniestro y bien elaborado que persigue el derrocamiento del gobierno del Presidente elegido leg\u00edtimamente por el pueblo, Nicol\u00e1s Maduro Moros, y la destrucci\u00f3n de cuanto tenga que ver con la obra revolucionaria, sus relevantes logros sociales y los ideales del Comandante Hugo Ch\u00e1vez Fr\u00edas.<\/p>\n

La Venezuela revolucionaria aplic\u00f3 por primera vez la distribuci\u00f3n de la renta petrolera en bien de las mayor\u00edas y, ante las adversidades y obst\u00e1culos m\u00e1s graves, se ha empe\u00f1ado en mantener las pol\u00edticas sociales en beneficio de los pobres. Ha emprendido audaces y muy complejas tareas para solucionar los problemas estructurales de la naci\u00f3n y ha logrado\u00a0 preservar la paz y la estabilidad. Trabaja por aglutinar las fuerzas patri\u00f3ticas y bolivarianas bajo la uni\u00f3n c\u00edvico-militar coherente con la historia libertaria de la naci\u00f3n. Contin\u00faa enfrascada en la lucha sin tregua contra la corrupci\u00f3n y el burocratismo, el fortalecimiento de las comunas y el reconocimiento de los derechos de los pueblos originarios y afrodescendientes, y de la naturaleza.<\/p>\n

Los integrantes de la Red de Intelectuales, Artistas y Movimientos Sociales \u201cEn Defensa de la Humanidad\u201d ratificamos nuestra solidaridad con la Revoluci\u00f3n Bolivariana. Exigimos la derogaci\u00f3n inmediata del infame decreto del gobierno estadounidense contra Venezuela.\u00a0 Repudiamos el hostigamiento de la reacci\u00f3n y la censura para acallar la digna voz de Telesur. Rechazamos leyes como la que el pueblo ha llamado certeramente \u201cde amnesia criminal\u201d o \u201cdel auto perd\u00f3n\u201d para quienes con sus acciones sediciosas causaron y contin\u00faan causando muerte y dolor a muchas familias venezolanas, lo que equivaldr\u00eda a legalizar la impunidad.<\/p>\n

Para que Am\u00e9rica Latina y el Caribe pueda ser en efecto una \u201czona de paz\u201d, como proclam\u00f3 la CELAC, es imprescindible frenar de manera definitiva los intentos golpistas contra el gobierno bolivariano y preservar el orden constitucional. Hacemos nuestro el esp\u00edritu ecum\u00e9nico, humanista e inclusivo del Congreso de la Patria.<\/p>\n

Convocamos a una amplia movilizaci\u00f3n en defensa de la soberan\u00eda y la autodeterminaci\u00f3n del pueblo venezolano y en apoyo a todos los gobiernos, l\u00edderes y activistas progresistas de la regi\u00f3n, que est\u00e1n siendo v\u00edctimas de una verdadera cacer\u00eda\u00a0 por la reacci\u00f3n interna y el Imperio. Un proceso similar al Plan C\u00f3ndor est\u00e1 en marcha en Am\u00e9rica Latina, cuando se recrudece la persecuci\u00f3n a todos los que luchan por objetivos emancipadores.<\/p>\n

La RED rechaza en\u00e9rgicamente todo intento de golpe de Estado en Brasil y el uso faccioso de la justicia para criminalizar a dirigentes pol\u00edticos populares, como Dilma Rousseff, Lula da Silva y Cristina Kirchner. Llamamos a concentrarse frente a las Embajadas de Brasil en el mundo, en solidaridad con el gobierno brasile\u00f1o y en repudio a los intentos golpistas y la represi\u00f3n paramilitar contra el Movimiento de los Sin Tierra. Repudiamos el cobarde asesinato de Berta C\u00e1ceres, dirigente del pueblo Lenca de Honduras, y nos pronunciamos por la liberaci\u00f3n de la luchadora ind\u00edgena Milagro Sala, de la Argentina, y por la del independentista puertorrique\u00f1o Oscar L\u00f3pez Rivera, quien cumple prisi\u00f3n desde hace 35 a\u00f1os. Apoyamos las demandas de justicia por el crimen de Estado contra los 43\u00a0 estudiantes de Ayotzinapa. Condenamos el paramilitarismo en Colombia y el asesinato de 120 militantes de Marcha Patri\u00f3tica en el \u00faltimo a\u00f1o, como un serio obst\u00e1culo contra los afanes de paz de ese pueblo hermano.<\/p>\n

La RED censura la tentativa de enlodar la autoridad pol\u00edtica y \u00e9tica del presidente de Bolivia Evo Morales, uno de sus miembros fundadores, a trav\u00e9s de una estrategia de manipulaci\u00f3n y mentiras. Expresa su apoyo al presidente de Ecuador Rafael Correa a quien se le ha tratado de derrocar y es hostigado de forma persistente. Condena los intentos de utilizar la delincuencia com\u00fan con fines pol\u00edticos para desestabilizar el gobierno de El Salvador.<\/p>\n

Construyamos juntos una plataforma, con una agenda com\u00fan, de medios de\u00a0 comunicaci\u00f3n antihegem\u00f3nicos, que incluya Telesur y otros canales p\u00fablicos, sitios digitales, redes sociales, agencias de noticias y emisoras comunitarias. Es vital contribuir al enriquecimiento espiritual de los seres humanos a trav\u00e9s del arte ajeno a la dictadura del mercado, y crear a escala de masas, sobre todo en las nuevas generaciones, \u00a0una nueva cultura opuesta al consumismo, que contribuya a la formaci\u00f3n de un sujeto social no manipulable, solidario y cr\u00edtico, que se resista al asesinato u olvido de nuestra memoria, patrimonio identitario y conciencia hist\u00f3rica.<\/p>\n

Como dir\u00eda un poeta nuestro, \u201cun pueblo que se hace fuerte a trav\u00e9s de su lenguaje y de sus actos libres, es una amenaza para el Imperio y es el amanecer para la Humanidad\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
