Alrededor de las 6:00 pm el s\u00e1bado, 9 de agosto, la compa\u00f1era Amanda Trebach fue liberada del centro federal de detenci\u00f3n de Los \u00c1ngeles sin cargos penales.<\/p>\n
Uni\u00f3n del Barrio agradece profundamente el apoyo y trabajo de miles de personas para asegurar la liberaci\u00f3n de nuestra compa\u00f1era Amanda. \u00a1Infinitas gracias a nuestro equipo legal, a cada persona que se tom\u00f3 el tiempo de llamar demandado su libertad, de marchar frente al lugar donde la ten\u00edan presa, as\u00ed como a miles de nuestras hermanas y hermanos que unieron sus voces para defender a nuestra valiente compa\u00f1era! Agradecemos al colectivo del Patrullaje por la Paz del Puerto de San Pedro quienes han estado resistiendo, documentando y organizando por meses. Reconocemos que sin miembros de este colectivo quienes tomaron video y r\u00e1pidamente pusieron la denuncia p\u00fablica es probable que el caso hubiera tomado otro rumbo.<\/p>\n
Minutos despu\u00e9s de enterarnos del arresto de nuestra camarada Amanda nuestra organizaci\u00f3n dedic\u00f3 los recursos necesarios para asegurar su libertad. Cada llamada de apoyo trat\u00f3 de asegurar que quienes la arrestaron se dieran cuenta de que ella no estaba sola, que se llevaron a una enfermera, a una camarada, a una luchadora social y a una persona de buen coraz\u00f3n. As\u00ed como Amanda entre nosotros hay miles, millones de personas con corazones bondadosos y el coraje humanista que saben sacrificarse por el bienestar de otras y otros.<\/p>\n
Est\u00e1 victoria demuestra como el terror del estado no siempre podr\u00e1 infringir dolor y desesperaci\u00f3n sin respuesta popular. Trabajamos d\u00eda a d\u00eda para que la resistencia crezca. Con la organizaci\u00f3n popular del pueblo en lucha habr\u00e1 luz de esperanza. Habr\u00e1n las y los que resisten las redadas, organizar\u00e1n m\u00e1s Patrullajes Comunitarios, capacitaremos a m\u00e1s personas para levantar la autodefensa del pueblo, porque s\u00ed hay quienes ya decidieron luchar con la frente en alto y sin miedo a reclamar nuestra dignidad.<\/p>\n
\u00a1Camaradas, podemos tomarnos un momento para sentirnos orgullosas y orgullosas de nuestro trabajo colectivo! Nuestra campa\u00f1a de presi\u00f3n jug\u00f3 un papel importante. Peque\u00f1as victorias como esta representan una gran victoria simb\u00f3lica en el contexto de tanta violencia y represi\u00f3n. At approximately 6:00 pm on Saturday, August 9, compa\u00f1era Amanda Trebach was released from the federal detention center in Los Angeles without criminal charges.<\/p>\n
Uni\u00f3n del Barrio deeply appreciates the support and effort of thousands of people to secure the release of our comrade Amanda. Infinite thanks to each person who took the time to call for her freedom, to march in front of the detention center where she was being held, to our legal team for their support, as well as to the thousands of our sisters and brothers who unified their voices to defend our brave comrade! We are grateful to the Harbor Area Peace Patrol who have been resisting, documenting, and organizing for months in the area around Terminal Island. We recognize that without members of this collective who took video and quickly reported Amanda\u2019s violent detention and illegal arrest, the case would likely have taken a different course.<\/p>\n
Immediately upon learning of compa\u00f1era Amanda’s arrest, our organization dedicated the necessary resources to secure her freedom. Every call of support sought to ensure that those who arrested her realized that she was not alone, that they had taken a nurse, a comrade, a social activist, and a kind-hearted person. Among us there are thousands, millions of people who, like Amanda, have kind hearts and the humanistic courage to sacrifice themselves for the well-being of others.<\/p>\n
This victory demonstrates how state terror will not be allowed to inflict pain and despair without a popular response. We will continue to work every day to grow this resistance. Only through a people\u2019s organization united in struggle, will there be a light of hope. There will always be those who resist their raids, who will organize more Community Patrols, who will train more people to raise the people’s self-defense, because there are those who have already decided to fight with their heads held high and without fear to reclaim our dignity.<\/p>\n
Comrades, we can take a moment to feel proud of our collective work! Our pressure campaign played an important role. Small victories like this represent a great symbolic victory in the context of so much violence and repression. Adelante pueblo valiente, vamos a construir lo que a\u00fan no se ha logrado construir.\u00a0 Our daily work will grow the popular organization in every barrio where La Raza is ready to defend itself.<\/p>\n
