Since its founding in 1987, Somos Raza Youth Project published Somos Raza Magazine to reach out to barrio youth, and raise the political and cultural conciencia in our communities. We did this by collecting art, poems, history lessons and dedications, then putting them together in small photo-copied magazines that we would pass out in the different barrios of San Diego Califas. Today Somos Raza Magazine includes some of these same things, but the magazine is online as we work to fulfill the original goals of bringing a culture of struggle to our barrio youth. It includes video production as well as print.
